Clara Habercamp

Clara Haberkamp is an up-and-coming Berlin pianist and singer, recently signed to Traumton Records for her fourth album entitled, “Orange Blossom”.

She has performed with and composed for her trio, for string quartet and large ensembles, including the NDR Big Band. Clara has won several prizes as both a solo artist and band leader, such as the “Jugend Jazzt“, “Jazz Baltica Newcomer Award” and the Sparda Jazz Award.

She studied Jazz piano at the Jazzinstitut Berlin and attained a Masters degree in composition at the HfMT Hamburg. Clara has worked with the actor and singer Gustav Peter Wöhler, songwriter Popette Betancor, and top jazz artists. These include Ack van Rooyen, Greg Cohen, David Friedman, Chris Dahlgren and Claus Stötter. Clara performs reguarly with her own Trio and Solo program.

The Clara Haberkamp Trio was nominated for the ECHO Jazz Germany 2017 in the „newcomer“ category.

As a sidewoman she plays in David Friedman’s Generations Quartet and tours throughout Germany with the collective Band „SASKYA“.

Since October 2016 she has been teaching jazz improvisation at the Music Conservatory (HfMT Hamburg), Germany.

She was recently awarded a scholarship by the Claussen-Simon Foundation in Hamburg.
